Second time is a charm

I guess I didn't understand the whole gauge thing in knitting (which is why when I got 3/4 of the way through my most recently started project, which was intended to be an Adult Medium, it fits Jessie pretty good.......).

Until I went to my Mom's LYS with a pattern in hand, and they helped me pick the yarn. My only requirements? It had to be a specific color - I don't care what the fiber is, how to care for it, it just had to be a specific color.

Too bad I decided to switch patterns after bringing the yarn home, but a quick call up there (hey - she told me if I had any questions to give her a call) and they verified that the yarn I purchased should work with the pattern I FINALLY decided on. With different sized needles than what I purchased of course:)

Another call up there this afternoon to ask them to hold another skien of yarn for this project, and I should really be good to go.

I'm loving that blue! and you really got a fast start on it!!!

the ladies at the yarn shop were probably so happy to help, they really don't mind calls like that, I'm sure! you're now probably one of their favorite customers.... :-)

The color is beautiful. I spent the day yesterday helping my pack rat of a daughter clean her room. I know exactly how you feel. It looks great now though!

The color is luscious. When I taught knitting I always told my students that doing a test swatch to check you gauge was not necessary if you had a large family or a lot of friends so that if it did not fit you it could be given to someone that it did fit.
