My New Obsession....

...and after the summer we've had....it's not a steer, or a calf... or a pig!

It's my soon to be new sweater!

I am lucky enough to be test-knitting this for Baby Cocktails, and I LOVE this sweater already. I cannot wait to be wearing it!

While it looks like I'm not very far into it, this picture was taken on Sunday afternoon....after just a little over an hour of knitting on both Saturday and Sunday.

On size 8 needles, it's flying right along.....I'm about 8 inches up the back, just a few more to go! I think all sweaters need to be knit on size 7 or larger needles.....

And yes, I can't believe I've managed 2 posts in as many days. Things have REALLY slowed down here now that the fair is over. And it helps that Jessie has "realized" that the more she is around her calves, the better they are. So her and Tyler have been doing all the feeding and cleaning out in the barn....

I love that color! I have tried to knit a few times, but it never seems to take for me.

What a great sweater! I prefer the bigger yarns/needles for bigger projects too. Otherwise it takes me 6 months to make a sweater and/or I just get bored and give up on it.

Can't wait to see the finished product! :)

That is going to be a warm addition to your wardrobe. You are right about knitting sweaters on size 8 needles. They do knit up so much faster...... You are a fast knitter anyway.

It looks great! I'm a yarn obsessed woman, too. My current project is crochet, a cowl for fall/winter, but I'm constantly thinking of what I can make next! Can't wait to see your finished project!

I love Baby Cocktails! As soon as I finish my socks and my crocheted cardi, I'm starting on Calvados. When it's finished I'm going to wear it while sipping a cocktail (a baby cocktail....lol).

Great beginning! I really like the colour, and cables are such fun to knit.

Have a great weekend!

Love the cable sweater. You will be done in plenty of time for winter. And, I love reading about the steers and other livestock, too.

Looks great...and warm too. I love the color and the cables (I love cables!) Makes me want to gather up some yarn and sticks and start something warm myself :cD Can't wait to see it all finished.
