RIP Abby

Last Sunday, Abby took off across the yard chasing a rabbit. She made it oh....100 feet or so before having one of her seizures. She sort of came around, but not really. So we carried her to the house and put her in her cage (we were going away for the evening) with some warm blankets. We sat with her for a little bit, and she seemed to rally. We went to my in-laws for dinner, and when we came home she was gone.

Tyler summed it up the best she died chasing a bunny, and now hopefully God is letting her CATCH the bunnies since she wasn't able to catch this one.

She would have been 12 years old on August 11th. I think she had some great years....

I'm so sorry for your loss. There are few things in life like losing a beloved dog. Here's to chasing bunnies...

Oh how sad. I'm glad you are able to look on the bright side that she had a good life and now can maybe catch those bunnies she wanted to much. It's so hard to loose a dog. A few years ago, we lost a dog that we had had longer than our children. They are such a part of the family. I'm always amazed that people who don''t have pets just don't get that.
Hang in there.

Tears of joy, Kris. I've been thinking about Abby, quietly, all these days, particularly as I watch my Sadie moan and groan after laying for some time. Your little boy is so wise. I'm grateful for the family life you bring my days.

RIP, Abby. You live in thought for the joy you brought 12 blessed years. Catch a few rabbits and smile!

I, too, am sorry for your loss. And how wonderful that you had her for so long. We have recently gotten an Abby, now 8 months old, so the rabbit chasing goes on.

Such a positive attitude for such a sad experience. Dogs are family members and I know how much she will be missed.......
