Heaven

I was in the mood to bake when I finally made it home from work and errands.....

I had seen a recipe on-line for Angel Food Cake. Which was yummy enough - until I read a comment that had the frosting (which consists of cool whip, blueberry yogurt and powdered sugar). I thought this would be a change from our normal chocolate filled deserts....

So I set to work baking 1 from scratch.

Just a couple rules to follow:

Rule #1 - when you think it is done, leave it in a little bit longer. My oven tends to run hot but not in this case.

Rule #2 - DON'T slam the oven door.

Rule #3 - make sure you hide the frosting. Or the little boy in the house will think it's fine to sneak into the fridge and scoop it up with his fingers!

Rule #4 - even when the top falls in because either you took it out of the oven too soon or you slammed the oven door - it will still taste yummy. So yummy that the entire cake will be gone in 1 evening.....

If you can survive making this - it is Oh so Yummy. This just might become a favorite desert....

Thankfully we couldn't eat all the frosting, so I just may have to bake another one tomorrow night.

Oh my. I loved angel food cake as a little girl. And I've not had it in years. How could you do this to me, make my mouth water this early in the morning? I'm with Tyler...give me fingerfulls of frosting and I'll be oh so happy!

Sunshine days, Kris, from here to there!

Yum! I'm going to try this one. When I lived at home we got to pick what kind of birthday cake we wanted. I always picked Angel food cake with lemon filling/icing which was whipped cream and a made up lemon pie filling. Heavenly! Have a great day! Heather

I absolutely love angel food cake. But have never dare make it. I've heard it is impossible. You have proved the impossible. I may give this a try! The cake looks wonderful.
Have a good day.

You've got me with this one. Blueberries and whipped cream? On top of Angel Food cake? That's only my favorite thing ever!

Hello!!
Looks like you have been busy. I have been out of town visiting my parents. They don't have a computer so I have had a few days that I haven't had to be on the computer. I love everything you have posted since I have visited. Thanks for passing on the blessed life to me. I will be doing that today. Thanks!

don't slam oven door, eh? Sounds like a lesson you've learned first hand!

You got me, too. This sounds like a Weight Watcher's friendly desert and I can't wait. Of course, the cake will come premade from the grocery and I may add some fresh blueberries, but cooking is a lot like making a quilt, each one gets to do it her way. LOL

I love angel food cake. So fluffy and not to sweet. Your cake looks as perfect as can be.
