Wonderful, wonderful Sunday - too bad it's been pouring rain here.
I spent a lazy morning playing on quilting this tablerunner.
I got the inspiration to make it from Jacquie - and added my own gold stars in the blue (they're kind of hard to see). I took Glad Press N Seal, drew the stars and free motion quilted them. Now I've just got to piece together a scrappy binding with some of the leftovers from various projects.
Then Jessie wanted to learn how to sew, so I let her practice on some scraps, and then she made this chicken block all on her own (I thought paper piecing would be easy on her - follow the lines):
I wonder if she will continue to quilt - or if she will not have the patience for it - she's not one to sit still for very long:)
Then of course, Tyler had to try out the sewing machine:):
Happy Mother's Day everyone!!!

It's neat that your kids are taking an interest in quilting. I can't wait until mine are old enough to start.
So fun to see the kids at the sewing machine! The flag looks great! I might be making more. The friend I gave it to has been taking orders from her military mom's group. I could be up to my ears in flags!
I'm with you Jessie! I want to learn how to sew too! That is truly special that you have the gift of sewing (along with many others:) to pass on.
Happy belated Mother's Day friend.

We had a wonderful gal give a talk with her quilts at our church last week.
