Blanket Love

Both of my kids love blankets. Fleece blankets, knitted blankets, cotton - it doesn't matter.

Do you think they sleep with enough blankets?

Jacquie was generous enough to send me 2 pieces of sheeting. See, Jessie loves to read blogs. And she saw a quilt that Jacquie had made, and wanted one just like it.

In the hustle and bustle of starting school, soccer, and end of summer, she forgot about it. But I didn't. And last night, I made this quilt top:

It measures 50 1/2" square. I think with cotton batting and either a sheet backing or flannel, it will make a wonderful lap quilt for her for Christmas.

When I cleaned out my sewing/computer room, all my "works in progress" I dumped in a huge rubbermaid tote. That's right, I dumped them in there. Now I'm sorting through, and when I find all the pieces to any one top, I stop what I am doing and work on the top. I figure if I get all the tops done, I can quilt them all later on this fall. So far, it's working - this one is at least in quilt top form. Ummmm.....I think I have 11 more to go.

Now I just need to make a sheet quilt for Tyler out of my sheeting stash:

And that will be 1 present down for Christmas for both of them!

Know the feeling about your kids loving quilts. My kids hoard mine, play in them, drag them outside, dress up in them and haul them on their beds.. I think children can never have enough quilts.. Cheers Cherry

Hi...visiting from Country Girl at Home...
What a sweet lap quilt!
For awhile now, I've been really wanting to learn to quilt, so perhaps this winter I'll take a class or something!

I'm having a 350th post giveaway, so feel free to stop by!

Blessings,
~Tammy (Lattes and Lollipops)

that's so sweet! KK is a blankie fanatic as well and I have a feeling that I'm making Laney Rae into one as well. We are a house who loves our blankies......what can I say!
