First 2 finishes of the year

New Year's Eve ended up being very quiet for us. Tyler didn't feel good, Todd didn't feel good, so all the friends elected to stay home. So we were all asleep by 10:30 maybe???

But the trade off - I was up at 7:30 ready to go. I wanted something quick and easy, so these 2 doll quilts were born. I followed this tutorial and used some of the scraps of batik fabrics leftover from this quilt top.

This one is just 2 sheet fat quarters (stiple quilted), which I received from a Vintage Sheet Swap I participated in this summer past:

I even did the little pillows and the little pillowcases.

I can't wait to get both of these in the washer and dryer and see how they pucker up. I'm really anxious to see how the sheet one looks - the top and back both are sheets, and I am hoping it's not too lightweight. I think these will be great birthday and Christmas presents for some little girls I know....
Later,
Kris

Two projects done already!! You're trying to make the rest of us look bad ;)
We made it till midnight but now my hubby and I have both been sick all day. I've finally worked my way up to having gatorade!
Hope your family doesn't share their illness with you.

Absolutely adorable, Kris. Doll quilts must go on my 2009 List of Sewing Projects to Enjoy and Complete. And those little pillows? Too die for. Just too cute. What sweet gifts for special little girls.

Hope the guys are feeling better and you & Jessie stay healthy, too. A quiet New Year's Eve is not a bad way to start off a new year. Creating & resting are grand accomplishments for Jan. 1 if you ask me!

Happy 2nd!

Ana :)

Great work - we don't so much on New Year at the moment as our children think 9pm is late ! I am sure this will change soon. I have started work on my quilt today - just the cutting of fabric though !

Best wishes - Vanessa
